Don’t hold your pee!!! The Beginning of My Prostate Surgery Journey.

In January 2023, while driving to Vancouver, BC, from my home near Seattle, I had to take a pee. Unfortunately, we were in a huge traffic tie-up on the interstate for hours! My urgency was so acute I was trying to pee into a cup in the car! Nothing was flowing. We finally arrived in Vancouver, checked into the hotel, and again, tried to urinate. And again, no success, so off to the ER. St. Paul’s ER in downtown Vancouver, BC, at 3 AM on Friday the 13th. How appropriate. After 5 tries, the nurses finally were able to get a Foley Catheter up Little Jay and into my bladder. They drained close to 1000ml and left the catheter in for what would turn out to be almost four months.
